Hanley-Browne attends the CBI London Forum – Better Regulation

Rachael Hanley-Browne, Director of Resourcefulpeople and London Regional Director for the Recruitment & Employment Confederation has been invited to attend the CBI London Senior Executive Forum - Servicing the Better Regulation in March 2007. Acting in her role as REC Regional Director, Hanley-Browne will attend the conference to review, “The Impact of the EU Services Directive on UK Business Competitiveness”:
In 2006 the EU agreed the final text of the Services Directive, one of the most radical pieces of legislation to emerge from Brussels. The Directive requires Member States to review their legal frameworks to ensure that they do not prevent non-national companies from operating in their territory. The Directive’s implementation gives UK firms a level playing field across the EU; but the Directive also plays into the UK Government’s ‘Better Regulation' agenda. With the publication last November of the ‘simplification plans’ by which key Government departments will simplify and reduce regulatory burdens, this is a particularly important time for companies to come together to inform and influence the Government's work in these areas. This Senior Executive Forum will help businesses understand the commercial opportunities that these major government initiatives will afford, and to engage and discuss their thoughts with two of the key players managing the process.
